Now, let's decorate Roberta's living room, again (price be .. err .. not considered)

We use the reclaimed wood tables, made by us; not to save money, but, because, she says she likes them. In fact, we could have three of them, kind of medium-sized, with caster wheels attached (that have locks on them), and, they could be used as a coffee table, end tables or ottomans (as soon as someone plops a cushion on top of them).

This is done from a photo of a Copenhagen couch that was in the wrong color, altogether. This is still not quite the shade of purple, but, it comes closer than the original photos. So, anyway, this is a representation of a couch that me and Roberta saw, enjoyed and which would fit in her living room. The green cushions were already on the couch, and are not a suggestion. The floor fill in is from the slate gray tile floor.

In this version of room decor, the sectional is not up against the back wall, but is up against the wall that is shared with the bedroom. More or less where the couch is now, but, further back.  The swivel chairs have disappeared.

There is a coat tree, near the door:

We keep the mannequin, but, lose the tables that were by the couches and, instead, add a purple-flocked dog, to keep everyone company. For one of the last things you want in life, after the end of a hard day's work, is to come home to a complaining mannequin, who says it is tired of being alone.

For above and behind the sectional, where we add the wall system,, a lamp to light the way:

And, just to be weird, for the shelving units, as needed, sprinkle some odd bookends:

white, semi-life-like  Hand Bookends

Black Zebra Tapered Marble Bookends

And, a few other nifty items:

Animal Print Capiz Spheres

Purple Glass Pillar Stand

And, a couple of these, in black or white or both. Why? Because, I sat on one, it was comfortable, and, I immediately thought, "Now, this is the way to sit and paint.".

For the corner where the desk is now, we add a corner bookcase: from bookcases galore

Sitting under the niche is now this:
4006214 Black and White Harlequin Bombe Chest - Butler

Harlequin Bombe Chest

because, directly in front of the bookcase are these chairs, with the purple and white striped tables to keep them company.

And, inside the niche (assuming it shall fit) is this Flocked Birdcage Pendant Light

After said niche is suitably painted or wall papered gold, purple, black, white, or etc, of course.

What we are completely unable to explain is how all this ties into this wall paper:

Though, I do see a tree on the windowsill, so ...
Hmmm ...

I ran into too many neat things, that would be cool, and, it requires a lot of thought. For instance, probably neither the mannequin or the flocked dog would fit into the room. However, if we used the Cityscapes wallpaper, we could put them on a bench in front of it, and they could be waiting for the bus!

That would mean moving the sectional back to its original position, bringing the swivel chairs back into play, using the purple/white striped tables with them (in which case we might need different swivel chairs), and ... blahhhhhh ...  I need to do my work.
